No que No! Is an common expression we use in my culture when we achieve or complete something that someone, something, or somewhere said we can't or won't do something.
As a first generation USA born American I was often loudly or silently discouraged to pursue a job, an activity, a dream or passion because I was "not going to make it". Well look, here I am a Mexican by descent first gen to graduate from a Uni, become a licensed professional in my immediate and extended family in the USA.
It has been a meaningful, bitter-sweet, challenging, and yet very rewarding journey to arrive here. I am not close to where I plan to be when I close my ojitos for the last time on this beautiful blueberry of a planet.
Pero, aver, ahora si! I have arrived to the table to eat, and feed others along the journey. A mission of nourishing the mind, body, and spirit of my own and of those I aspire to reach one post, therapy session, supervision, consultation, or blog or as my ama says, un entracambio de animo o presencia!
So if you are reading this, and you are motivated to reach for the moon and stars? Atrevete, que si siempre, y nunca que No! podemos.
If you doubt yourself, this may be a sign to reach out to a therapist and dismantle la duda. Y pues I am here and so is the team of Well Being Child & Family Therapy.
Until next time! Se cuidan, take care. - Natasha Quintero
